Check out Vari-Fi in the D-Fi plug in pack...works perfect and is EXACTLY what you talking about.

problem with the tape stop effect.... MTV, BET, TOP40 stations, won't usually approve a clean with tape stops.. You have to TOTALLY drop the word... They usually want silence... Oftentimes if it kills the flow, I'll just throw a delay on the last word before the clean edit.

Peace out!

PS lets make Tha Carter III do 900+ first week! get-out and cop a copy!

I'm not current with major markets like NYC, but in Philly I "reversed" about 1000 curse words a week that went to air.

Have any of you guys tried throwing sound FX in?

On the Jay-Z remix of Juvenile "Ha", Mannie Fresh put a bunch of random sound effect in front of the curse words, it was hilarious. He had some punch sounds ("psshhh" sound), some car horns and other stuff.

Check out the Heiro song Dont Hate the Player, off the NBA 2K7 sound track. I dont think they were really censoring anything, but they replaced a bunch of the words with sounds from a basketball court, genius in context. If you gotta censor keep it creative.
