Loops Going Out of the box ?

Hi,

I made a dozen songs for a rap cd in reason. Just wonder if I can mix direct into protools or if I should go out to get the sound pass through some analog preamps / comp / eq ?
With all the good plugins available is it needed to go out or are there electronic production which are made only ITB ?
How the majority of rap, rnb producer do ?

You could rewire it straight into pro tools and mix it ITB, however some outboard gear might help it to sound better. It totally depends on how it sounds. I find it easier to mix when the signals have been recorded through high end pre's.

i vote for OTB... id say rewire it into protools and then mix analog, or if all else fails, record it back into protools through some good converters and great pre's /DI
