Thread Starter | Rewiring Reason while using outboard gear
Hi All.I am a reason user and i have been seeing alot of Reason users say that they like it Rewired coz it sounds better.I have tried myself without any gear and seen a difference bt i want to know how you guys include outboard gear while doing this. What outboard are you using and how are u able to route from the Reason Hardware interface into the outboard gear and back into a DAW. Any help tips and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks |

I do that sometimes... First plug the outputs of all your Sound Devices to the Reason Hardware Device outputs(64chs available) at the top... In your DAW create Aux tracks... Assign Aux tracks to receive audio via Rewire relative to each Sound Device... Send Aux tracks out to a mixer, mic-pres etc... Then route back into your interface to new audio tracks... Ready to record... I created a Reason and Pro Tools template for this purpose... The sound quality depends on your choice of outboard gear... I would guarantee more character if anything... d; D |

Thanks a lot.I will definitely try this. In your experience do u get much difference in sound when routing through the mixer or mic- pres as compared to jus plain rewiring?
