Best Vst's For Drums?

Well, i want vst's that can make my drums warm, fat and your usual so forth..

I got this really cool vst for free that lets you compress the frequency you want in the kick.. Really dope, i'll be asking if there is any out there in another post. Cus this one is a free "cheap" ver..

But anything like that, that can enhance the drum and the snare without making them flat is what im after..

Heres one: colortone pro

colortone is cool for a lot of things, I like to use it parallel.

If you want to work on drum sounds the transient designer type of plugins are really cool, the sonnox is very good, the stillwell is exellent too, I know there's a lot more...

Yes it is dope, even more so. I actually use it quite a bit when I am doing in the box masters, and it does a great job. I havent tried it during mixes though (maybe I will on my very next one). I have been quite stuck on Waves TransX thus far for mixing. That one is also worth trying if your into Waves plugins.

The waves works mo like kind of "transient eq".

The sonnox/stillwell are different you can add attack (not like an adsr, mo like "mo snap") and sustain (the sonnox have an overdrive fuction and a lot of parameters), the stillwell have an "oversampling" function and you can choose the freq your workin on but not like the waves.

My personal fav is the stillwell (especially for the price but it's not for that I really like it better), the sonnox is very good, I dont use the waves that much so I cant comment but it's a different beast.

I never use these plugins when I mix (I'm not a great mixer though) but when I'm on some sound design mood.

Yea its pretty damn good man. For example, while Waves transX is great for use on drums and the like, I have yet to really find a proper use for it while mastering full mixes. For overall mix processing I feel the need for something a bit more precise. Sonnox Transmod allows me to dial in more precise settings for enhancing transients on more complicated and delicate material. Its perfect for stuff like sharpening the attack of your drum kit on a full mix without really effecting all the other parts of the mix. It gives me the exact control that I need in those particular cases.

For drums though, I still prefer the ease and performance of Waves TransX, which is why its still my go to for mixing.

I hate to support a scum sucking piece of shit company, but the waves v-series compressor was the best plug I've ever heard on drums- and I wanted to hate it- But when used properly it rocks.
