they suck.

buy it and sell it to me.

just kidding. cop it if you can afford it.

it's hard to put a price on them. ive seen guys pay $500, ive seen guys pay $2000 for a 1200... either way, both cats were mad happy and if you ahve the money and it's in great shape, then pick it up.

i swapped an MPC 2000xl for an ASR-10 and Triton today. I can't believe it... I already have an ASR but thought the deal was too ridiculous to pass up. Im laughin. Oh, and I got a $100 kb stand thrown in with it LOLL!!!

the guys at the studio saw me walk in with the MP ... 15 minutes later, my phone rings, i run outside with the MP and walk back in with two keyboards. Not a soul in there could believe what I swapped out. They insisted so much that I paid the kid additional money that they made me call and ask and put him on speaker phone... hahah...

"man these keyboard thing sucks, i saw a youtube video of TIMBO using an MPC i thinks we gotsta get one of those to be a super producer instead dawg"

robbery.

sellin the ASR tom for $700 and if i can get off the triton ... i think ima buy some new A/D's ;-)

(oh, and my homeboy gave me that MP last year... it's not like that was the one I was workin with)

There ****ing wac will give you $30 for it. Can't say fairer than that.

Its the classic kit that made BDP criminal minded most of the Audio Two's tracks, including "Top Top Billin" which is more or less 50-cents record i get money. Countless classic records. You can get about £400-£500 (bout $1000) in the UK/europe.

There rumored to be grittier & bigger sounding than the 1200, used to own a sp12 & acutely tested this next to my friends reissue 1200, seemed to be true. Sp12 also has a higher sampling rate than the 1200's.

Stick it through a mixer and check out the low sweeps on the kick.

Be sure and pick up the SP-12 Turbo version which gives you something like 5 seconds of sampling time versus the original 2.5 seconds of the original SP-12.

I personally wouldn't pay more than $400-500 for an SP-12 Turbo but to each his own. Keep in mind that there's no built in disk drive but you can purchase an external 5.25" drive (much harder to find disks for though).

ASR-10 and a Triton are not worth more than $400 each. An SP-1200 in good shape is worth about $800. An MPC 2000 is worth about $350-400...at least those are the prices I would spend on them.

I had one a few years back. Can't say that I would get another one. It had a gigantic commodore 5 inch floppy drive, and I was told that it belonged to DJ Chill Will of Doug E Fresh fame. If that was true.....

Yo Chill Will, I got your whole Doug E Fresh library on 5 in floppies!

Get a 1200 if your comparing.
