Who uses different mics for different parts of a song?

Just curious to see what the response is on this. i haven't tried it yet, but was considering maybe using one mic for lead vocs, a different one for doubles, and a different one for the hook. obviously you're going to select the best mic to work with the vocalist cause it works for their voice, but are any of you doing anything like above?

I've often used an "airier" mic for some chorus work and a more "in your face, out the speaker" kind of mic for the leads. I'd guess a lot of guys does that..
