By the way, very few people would know the difference the c800g and a Rode K2 in a mix.

Really warm and good charisma. I like it. It sound closer to Classic II btw.

But what about Sovtek and JJ tubes? Are they fine to use?

Sorry to be off topic a littlebit. I need to switch 2 tubes in EQ. It got stock somethindontknow and its 12AX7 type. I have limited options to purchase. There are Groove Tubes R2 for 80 buks, Messa Buogie for 40, JJ tubes for 15 and Sovtek for 20, Tung-Sol 20, Fender Groove Tubes 30, ELECTRO-HARMONIX 20.. anyone?

Thank you!

PS: I consider to use this EQ in recording chain to got a little more tube sound for condenser mic (NT2000).

Yeah they are, I mean I prefer NOS tubes but just as long as you put a decent 6DJ8/EC88 tube in it, then you're fine. I think the 6DJ8 style tube is the best for this microphone, and yes it does sound like the Rode Classic II a bit, not right off the bat but with a little bit of EQ it does.

Find out that russian Tung-Sol are great but Sovtek is not so musical (bad). And Electro Harmonix are fine too. Groove tubes are expencive and JJ are just good and cheap.
