Hocus Pocus:
YouTube - Hocus Pocus feat. Omar - Smile

^^My man is revolutionizing this hip hop thing. Seriously. Very unique.

There's a bunch of credible french hip hoppers:-

ROHFF
MC Solaar
Doc Gyneco
Cut Killer (DJ, but so ill! I will pay anyone who has the Luniz/Cut Killer - I Got 5 On it (remix) - where the intro starts: "That's my Ni**a - Cut Killer!... I got 5 on it...")
Saian (RIP to like ALL of them now ain't it? )

Anyways digest what you like...

MC Solar is the one I've always heard of but I also have a comp album by "The Originators" that has some good stuff. It's called Rap Adventures, Vol. 1. The stand out track is Platinum Plus with Big L (RIP from NYC) and C Town.

I don't know how it differs from the original Platinum Plus but it's banging. DJ Cam from Thievery Corporation was an exec producer. They had an album, DJ Kicks, with some good stuff on it, but not very hip-hop. More rare groove, dub, DJ, downtempo type stuff. An interesting take on Mathar.

2nd that. Add Saian Supa Crew to the list.

Tony Parker... What ? He does what he wants, and some of his hooks are actually catchy

A mate of mine put me on to these guys called 'Jazz Liberatorz' when I was in London a few months ago.

REALLY nice souled out beats. They colab with voaclists/MC's and also do a lot of instrumental stuff.

Well worth checkin out IMO. :)

F*ck the soupe du jour so called hip hop you guys are into. All I hear is copying US hiphop beatz and totally boring flow delivery.

Not only the beat was dope, but they knew how to make the french language groove by using the right accent (as in tonic accent) at the right time. It's really not easy ... case in point the current generation of french rappers, most of them have no clue what i'm talking about! ah ah ah

it's all in good fun homiez, no hatin'.
