Thread Starter | Pre-sampler......sampler
Does anybody here use two samplers, with one just being for the sound characteristics? I've got an Mpc2000xl, which sounds a little stale. Just wondering how many people use the pre-sampler....sampler. Im thinking of getting a s950,sp 303,asr 10 or emu emax. Could you imagine the sound if you re-sampled through each machine to get the e-mu, boss, ensoniq and akai sound all on one sample. I do wonder what it would sound like?

i got an asr-10 and an emu emax. i chop and arrange stuff on my asr and sometimes resample loops through the emax, make use of the analog filter, get some 12 bit dirt etc. it might be a little extra but it's whatever. it would probably sound noisy and dirty as hell bounced through that many machines. |

I sample my SP-1200 into the MPC 4000. I usually use a nice preamp & a/d to peak & then drag em to the 4k using aksys. D |

i run my samples through an s950, use the low pass filter, then into PT, or sometimes i just trigger the samples off the akai with a midi controller and record from that, usually for drums...

Cool workflows yall. Does everyone think that the mpc 2000xl sounds flat? Not as in lifeless flat, im talking what you put in is what you get flat. Reason I ask is would the 2kxl taint the rich sound of another sampler if I re-sampled into it. i think I read somewhere that the 8 outs board doesn't sound as good as the stereo out. I thought I noticed this before, but just wrote it off. This machine is my baby and I bought it when they were the newest mpc, but i have to say im getting bored with it. Hey theres another topic, how ofter do peeps switch their gear just to get out of a tired workflow. Ps Appreciate all the replies, thanks.
