Do you have the Waves SSL at your disposal by chance? I'm kinda torn between getting the UAD version and the Waves version but I keep hearing so many good things from a lot of people (including some majors) that the Waves stuff kills the UAD version hands down.

I haven't heard too many people champion the UAD version so I was just wondering if you had compared the two?

Have yall tried the Cytomic The Glue. It's a long thread in the new products section. It's supposed to emulate the SSL4K so that's another one to consider. It's like $99 and demos going on now. Ya'll should try it and post here what yall think.

TONY BELMONT!!! Where are you now? lol....I Guess you are more selective on being a moderator because you closed a post I had going trying to find out 'what sounds' Dallas Austin used...and listen to this post...my oh my..i thought part of thr GS regulations is not talking about who used what.... discrimination man..don't know why...lol

Haven't hared the Waves SSL.

I'm not in love with the 4K on buss material actually. I'm not used to mixing thru anything that tight. But on channel material like drums... it almost feels like cheating.

The question isn't where do you get the sample, but who's going to show you how to work the EQ, compressor, and how to layer kicks to get the sound that you're looking for...
