| Monitoring Sup i just set-up my little studio and was wondering what is the best level to monitor? In my main soundcard mixer it goes from 0 2 5 10 20 30 50 and 00.. So what would you say is the best? i know its best to monitor low. But how low is the question. Also i just put on my monitors truth b2031.. And was wondering is there hiss in any of your monitors? Mine do and the right one has more and it zig zags.. And it is all coming from the tweeter.. it even comes and goes away.. Is this at all normal at any level? it's not very loud.. but i can still hear it.. |

| Gear nut | you know i have some yamaha's and one tweeter did the same thing for a couple of days, had a odd hiss from the tweeter.. only when powered of course, and only when the cable was plugged into it. i tried 2 different cables and same result.. but i left for the weekend.. came back.. and it was gone. :) |

| Frequency interference Quote:
I have the same monitors and was getting the hissing bad when I lived on the fourth floor of an apartment complex. When I moved to a ground floor apartment it went away, and i worked out what it was. It was interference from TV and radio signals, frequencies and all that passing through my room at the same level. If I listened really close I could hear a radio station coming through my monitors. But any kind of hiss etc is interference from other signal that are being beamed around us all the the time. Think of a computer screen, or car radio and how a mobile phone can effect it. Not good for monitors, and I doubt it's good for us as humans either, but that's another topic. | |
