mcdsp filterbank = my goto , especially for surgical stuff.

URS stuff (all URS EQ's are great)

colorfull urs stuff = n & api series
fat sounding urs stuff = fulltec (great on mix buss!)

really you only need one or two good eq's .. i find having too much stuff takes away from your creativity because you feel like because you have something you should be using it somewhere. For complete ITB mixing I like to use one compressor for every track & one EQ , gives the mix more of 'a sound'. I've been digging the f* outta URS CSP . You get the EQ's, Dyanmics & Input stages of basically every eq/console you could ever need. You can literally build a virtual console out of just that 1 plugin. If you can stretch and you were thinking about URS stuff anyways, go with the CSP.

+1 for the CSP.thumbsup I prefer it over the Oxford eq wich is also good, but really different. Anyway the CSP does it all the way for me!

There is no best EQ.

That like asking what is the best color... Is green the best?

There a lot of great one's though.

I may on occasion talk about some of the products I am a dealer for in my posts.. and that's OK! I sell them because I like them. Not vice versa. It's more fun to talk about things you know and love, then things you don't.

Try to get one with out a picture of the spectrum. get one with just knobs 4 or 6 band. mix with your ears. the ones that show the spectrum lead to the average producer trying to creat a good sound from how the graph looks.

i got some good eq practice with the saffire bundle eq. . even has a nice little presence knob .

There is no single best but my favorite are:

EQ:
Sony, Waves API\SSL\V-series, Sonalksis, URS, RN UNIQUEL-IZER, Tritone.

Dynamics:
Sony, Waves API\SSL\V-series\Rennissance, Sonalksis, UAD1, PSP, MH CS,

The mcdsp stuff (eq and dynamics) are great too but i don't use them because there for PT only fuuck.

Reverb:
IK CSR, Altiverb.

Red is, blood.

I'm gonna second and third and fourth what everyone else said: There is no best EQ. There are a handful of really good ones, and some are good for this, some for that. If you narrow down your question, we can probably narrow down our recommendations.

such a generic response. Fine! what some "good" eq's... btw red is obviously the best color. if you knew anything about color you would probably know that.
