I don't know what you mean by "Dump" the files but I Keep the individual files (instruments) forever. you never know when you'll want to re-mix that song.
If I'm selling the beat, I'll hold them for a couple months then trash it. just in case the band/person needs those files again.

i usually start the mix as soon as i start the production.. its a horrible habit but i want my drums sounding a certain way and it annoys me if they don't.

maybe a hour or two between effects, automation and tweaks after the production is finished.

track all the vocals and dubs then it goes down for another few hours.

I go through phases where I dump all my stuff to tracks after making the beat, usually when I'm working with the ASR 10 I dump directly to the daw because I don't like saving the beats on the ASR, so I just dump it into the DAW. When using Reason I may wait till I'm ready to record more music or vocals over the tracks.

My productions are basically done before i start recording vocals.Mixed and pre master so the artist get´s a fell of what kindda wibe i want the song to have.
After the vocals are done i go back to the productions asnd polish it where it´s needed and the move on to mixing.
Might seen like it´s timeconsuming but im used to working this way and usually the song i done in a day or two after the artist has recorded it and they can judgy if there´s something they wanna change in the vocals or if we keep it the way it is.
Sometimes the productions of a track takes 30 minutes sometimes a week depending on the track , inspiration , general mood , n other crap.

Why waist all the time if no one is going to like em.
That is the sign of a confident producer, cause you have the beat sold before it is finished....ha. thats why i like youR BEATS son, cause your as confident as you are talented in making them.

I used to do that, but I learned a few things. Hearing some premixes of releases really changed my outlook. These records sounded damn good before they were mixed at all.

So now, when I make music, I don't mix it at all until I am finished writing. I just try and get the sounds rocking before any EQ/Comp/FX are needed. The song or beat always sounds way better when I do it like this.
