Guys, seriously...what are we talking about here? So the loop was for sale. BFD. They way they processed it sounds pretty damn tight to me.
We all love how Biggie flipped Mtume's "Juicyfruit"

or what Ice Cube did with "The Message".

I see it as a form of "modern day" sampling. Different from digging the crates obviously, but if you take a sample and flip it "properly" (James Bond accent)...I don't see the difference.
Somebody already mentioned The Neptunes earlier with their Triton presets. Just do what you need to do to get it done. Simple as that.

oh man...

I'm sorry. But that's like, if "Still Dre"'s piano riff, was an apple loop...

Lots of stuff Dre uses are from samples. He likes to take samples then have people/orchestras replay them. Bastard lol

Then that's even better. Find source material you like and replay it as desired to perfection....sounds like a winner to me.

It's all in the "ella". Not in the drumloop.

I could give a shit about "where" a sound, sample, loop, comes from....they all come from a collection. Every old dug up old school soul, funk record is a "sample library"

BTW, travis just txt'd me and Apple paid him a few large to do his part in the sample kits.
