I must give up tha love of my life since I got in a car accident n need tha money. Cant do tracks wit a cast on tha arm n I been out of commission for a lil bit so u kno what they say these beats dont make themselves n these bills dont pay themselves either... Have u ever had to give up on gear that u didnt really want to but u had to ? How long does it hurt ? |

It's funny that you mention this. I am kind of in that boat right now myself. I know if I sell my 2KXL, I can scare away all of my bills in one shot and be done with it. But I just don't want to do it. Sure, if I don't do it, there is a slight chance that I can possibly end up homeless. But screw it, I think I can carry a 'Will work for food' sign in one hand and my mpc in the other..... |

Try to keep the main gear and sell accessories. (I'll buy some of the Fantom SRX cards you have if you cut me a nice deal) OR Find someone locally (that you trust) who will buy the gear locally at a cheaper price than what it goes used, but sell it back to you when you are on your feet at the same price. (Think of it as a loan with your gear as collateral, but if you move on to some other gear, you keep the dough and be done with it.). |

way to be an opportunist no ssl lol j/k yeah thats actually a great idea but alas im moving to texas so basically he wont be local long n I love my peoples but u kno how music people are even ur "friends" I should be out my cast in a couple weeks n once I sell a track or two I should have enuff to replace the pieces im loosing but in the meantime I still got my MV8000 which Ive been kinda playing wit for a lil bit an Im pleasantly surprised I bought this thing and its literally been collecting dust forever in my studio. My mint condition ASR10 that I got brand new in a sealed box from a preacher in some random small town in florida aint going nowhere tho Ill be homeless with that thing til I die. I think it makes it easier to give up some of the other stuff because I kno I can always get em back in tha same condition for a reasonable loss on what Im sellin em for so its all good. SRX cards Im holding down tho Im just gonna lower from tha fantom x to tha fantom s again I kinda miss her a lil bit. She was like that girl u cheated on took for granted and when u lost her u wanted her back lol (the X series is tight too but I dunno the S just does it for me, now I c y some of tha older cats stick to some of that older gear once u fall in love its hard to move on) Quote:

I know how you feel. When I moved into my new spot I had to get rid of a lot of outboard (synths, my pre etc.) to put the deposit down. All I was left with was my PC, my interface and midi controller. The bright side was I had a couple hundred left over to change my motherboard and cpu. That was two years ago, I felt terrible. Now I have the best setup I've had ever (which is still not much but, it works for me). If music is your passion, you'll make music regardless of what you've sold, so I wouldn't sweat it too hard | |
