whats up i have a pro tools problem. everytime i start a session i might put the cursor somewhere in the middle of the song to make edits or re record a line, the cursor always goes back to the beginning of the song. any help. thanks 2 everybody

Everytime you stop playback/record does the cursor go back to the start of where you started recording? is that what your saying? Try this... In your Preferences there is a box that sais Playback insertion follows timeline. If this is checked.. your playhead will stay where it was stopped. If not, it will revert back to the start. just by pushing N will also turn this feature on and off (if you have commands focus mode turned on) If this dosnt work let me know. |

You need to have this option selected: ![]() the one next to the a...z option. Hope I made myself clear. |

this will allow you to make edits during play back or recording. use caution when editing during recording. |

no it still doesnt work, no matter what i do it starts at the beginning of the song evertime, not just the end of the recording. its wierd, it just reverts to the beginning of the session and wont let me start from anywhere else!!!

where are your locate markers (in the timeline above the audio - you might need to choose to display them? If they're at the beginning of the session, then you should be able to move them....does it play back properly then? |

1) see if pre-roll is active 2) make sure the 'a-z' is selected and then hit the 'N' key once

did u check if Dynamic Transporrt is off under the options menu..
