Thread Starter | Sampling from the iPod to the MPC
What's your opinion on sampling from the iPod into the MPC? It seems like a bad idea D/A converter wise. It's really convenient though, especially if I use .wav files on the ipod.

I read that the DA converter in the shuffle is very good. The DA converter in the regular iPod is very bad. So depending on your iPod it would work. Ofcourse the shuffle has no screen so it defeats the purpose but just thought you might like to know. |

Why not just transfer the wav file to something and then drop it on the MP?

lol I've sampled everything... ipod, tivo, vhs, dvd, xbox, youtube...etc conversions and sound dynamics quality arent really something im worried about at my level. I just worry about is it going to make the song better or not, cause most people cant tell the differences in dynamics between a 90's Bad Boy album and a 50 cent record.

for sampling i'd say anything is fair game as long as it works for the project.

| Lives for gear | I thought the iPod did have SPDIF output. I know that many of the docks used to have it. I think it's an optical/analogu hybrid jack.
