Last year at university, but I work doing commissions for some folks on the other side of the pond. I'm quite a big lad so I occasionaly do gardening and fencing for the folks around my area, hard work but helps to keep me flush with beer and beans

Looking for a job right now.
Almost got enought clients in my little studio to pay the rent. But it really doesn't take that much time, and I can do most of the mixing at night. So I am thinking of a day job to get my things going better.
Also do partyrocking as a Dj/turntablist, used to live off of that but right now the clubs that I played at regularly are closed, and I am not getting that much gigs

I move stuff around on shelves in grocery stores.

Reset sections to a schematic.

I'd really like to do something with more of a purpose behind it. Being a fireman is something I would like to look into.

plus all the fringe benefits...much cheaper health/dental/vision insurance, retirement plan, consistent income when music money gets slow, no hassle from cops, etc, etc..

and I've sold several tracks that were all composed while on duty at the firehouse. (double dippin'???)

So what you are saying is you put out heat.

Ah, more financial people. I'm a Japanese-to-English translator working for a big investment bank here in Tokyo. All equity related so I'm studying for my Series 2 now, which is the Japanese equivalent of a Series 7. Doesn't that sound like fun...

But as they say, cash moves everything around me...

I haven't worked a day job in around three years, but I have had some crap jobs, to stay on my feet. I worked at Rent A Center. That was the worst, collecting stuff from broke folks just like me, so messed up going to someone house to pick up a fridge, and they still got food in there. I did the labor job, sweeping up after constuction sites. Security was one of my favorites, gave me alott of time to work on writing raps. Tutoring for 6th graders was fun too. Someday soon, finances will not be a worry in the same way it is now.

My day job is producing and doing what ever my boss who is also a producer/songwriter needs me to do. That might mean tracking some sessions, promoting one of our artist or it could mean rounding up some girls to bring by the studio for a listening party...

That used to be me. I was an EMR implementation specialist/systems engineer. I used to go to all the GE conferences and talk about Citrix and Centricity.

Right now I am a "Senior Operations Analyst" at a very successful IT Security firm. And I hate it..... I think I am actually starting to hate IT in general after 8 years in the industry.

I'm about to wave bye-bye to my 40 hour a week IT job and go the route of consulting and doing music gigs in between. It's pretty freaky for my wife and I , but she is down with it.

Maybe it's my mid-30's crisis crashing down on me.... maybe next year I'll get a bunch of tats and my nipples pierced, who knows.

i was in MMI
Music merchandise
Held down a position in the technology department.
i was the groove/dj guy.
made a lot of connects, beta tested for a few companies, got great deal on gear.
but pay was shit.
that was 5 years ago.
been self employed every since.
before that i was in Corp world for 4 years. All through college.
Insurance, keeping my family happy.
It was the worst.
i was fired for no reason. manager called me in and said... your a little bit to artsy for me.
i think you should be a musician or a painter.. you aren't built for this..
I called her a ****ing bitch and walked out.. but in hindsight. she was totally right!!!!:P
I do miss those benefits though!!
