Sub Placement

I have an Event 12" Sub POsitioned in the center of my TR5's. Is it best placed center? or off to the left? I've seen diffrent set-ups.

I eventually would like to add another sub and place each on the same end of the TR5's

Just wondering if you Slutz have advice for Sub Placement and using a sub in your set-up for hip-hop ...

Depends on the room, the sub (and who you talk to ) . I've been told recently that actually having one sub doesn't work as well as having two (or 4)! With one being placed in the center of the stereo image and another off to one side, midpoint to the room, to even out bass modes in the room and give optimal bass response.

I think this topic has been discussed before, a search should yield some interesting debates.

i've heard of this way of doing it...

place the sub where you would be sitting, in the sweet spot, when listening or mixing. then move yourself around and see where the bass sounds best/balanced, all that. see where it sounds the best, and put the sub there.

I've heard this a ton of times. I do it and it seems to work for me. I'm sure Ethan or someone will eventually come by and set us straight if this is way off, but this is how a lot of people get it done.
