Setting up, but what do I use?

ey fellas. im setting up a little production. all i need is a good audio interface. i finished a diploma in audio engineering and i was taught pro tools, recently i purchased logic, but apparently logic and pro tools dont get on.
so ive had to consider something else. many suggestions have been put to me, but i don't want to spend a grand on something shit. i want the right piece of gear. so far, i've looked at focusrite, motu, rme and various other interfaces.
can people perhaps tell me what they use and how they find there gear?
this would help heaps.

Luke.

Get whatever and a great pair of AD/DA converters.
Then its really about which DAW you interface best with.

I believe the first thing Tony and many others here will say, it's dependent on your budget.

less $$ MetricHalo 2882 I/O

more $$ Lynx Aurora16 with AES/EBU pci/-e card

much $$ Lavry/Prism/etc.

donīt wanna be rude, but I always thought having a "diploma" included knowing your tools or knowing whom to ask, at least ??

TASCAM FW-1884 Close-Up | Sweetwater.com

You should go with this. It has everything you would need: adat,s/pidf, word clocking, etc.

Then all you would need is an ad/da converter, I suggest you learn how to make your music sound good without one first.
