OK....SO WHO CUTTING THE CHECKS THEN?

Hey guys, I may have an opportunity to produce some tracks for an artist on a major. I know the basics about the industy business. I have publishing but NEVER had any major placments, just some local stuff ive done to where it was cash up front because we both new the album wasnt going to do a "BAZILLION" copies. This may be my shot now to get 1 or 2 placements on some pop stuff. From my knowledge, the checks should come from the label, right?

Make sure you get a purchase order number from your rep at the label

second that P.O number.
make sure you talk to some one on the project and get that.
and dont hold your breath on that that check either.
it takes a minute depending on the label.
oh and dont be suprised if the artist ask you to pad that a little bit.
