I listening through my stock computer soundcard and a pair 100 headphones. Listening to the unmastered version sounds good to me just maybe needs to be eq'd a little more for clarity and through the vocal up or beat down just a bit. Maybe all that was done on the master version but I cant listen. I have to wait an hour.

I want to know everything. How you eq'd, it compressed it,etc and how much do you charge for mastering?

I haven't listened yet but wanted to ask about your experience with Har Bal. How long did it take? Is it easy to use?

Im gona dl the songs now.

Also, I would suggest using Z-share.net for hosting files nex time. Easier on the downloading end.

The big secret (and problem too) of this track was bass, kick and voices... The first note of the bass where kick hits every 1 bar (I can't remember exactly), was a big deal. I couldn't hear it at all so I had to automate it on whole song. I made compresion with 1176LN from my UAD-1 card on bass, kick and last two singers (on first singer I used Kjaerhus GCO-1-by the way it's me singing on a feat. jeje). I achieved about 5-6dB GR on bass and 7dB GR on kick and then I set a fairly long fast attack to let trasients "live" with a long release. Then when I got this two elements working together I set ratio on both compressors to "ALL", I mean, this compressor (1176LN) has the ability to turn on all ratios available (4, 8, 12, 20) at the same time, it's a special character of it. It keeps the compress element upfront. I adds some distorion if you don't set attack and release properly (after I turn this "all-ratio" I had to set input, attack and release again to avoid distortion). I Eq'd them with compensation, I mean, if I cut 0.9dB on 43Hz to the kick then I boost about 0.6dB on bass in the same frecuency. I made some other changes to them on other frecuencies to make them "fit". Just a few dB's on each to preserve a natural sound.
With voices I had problems on 350Hz, 700Hz and 2000Hz, I just made little adjustments on them, then I continue mixing all other elements and I came back later with them... I started cutting and boosting frecuencies with the whole track playing to make them fit in the mix (solo'ed they sound terrible but... they won't be alone in the song). That's an overall of my process in mixing but if you need more detail just ask and I'll answer everything you need.
I charged $90 for mastering and $60 per hour on mixing. I spent about 12 hours mixing it but I just charged 7 hours, It's my passion I'm not gonna charge the whole work just because it took so long... I always charge half the time I use to mix.

Barznbeats1...

Har-Bal's just amazing! I just made some little eq on some problematic areas and then I added some air (6%). I didn't compress within it, I exported the track and took it again inside nuendo to work with LinMB from Waves. Then I set a L2 and voila!
