Just got new equipment, vocals only rec on left side?

Why??? I have a mxl 990 condensor ------> presonus tube pre------->firebox-------firewire card--------->cubase le. When i record vocals, it only records on the left side.....anybody have any ideas??

btw i just got this stuff last night.....and i'm definatly taking back that firebox, the preamps are horrible. i have to blast the gain to hear at a normal level. the tube pre helps 1000%, half way is way to loud!!

quit recording to a stereo channel.

vocals are mono......1 cable, 1 channel......make a mono channel in SX...come on now, this isn't that hard.

The pres aren't horrible in the firebox. They are pretty clean actually. Sounds like you are doing somehting wrong.

Select Left for channel 1 or Right for channel 2.

haha, that actually makes plenty of sense... but i could have sworn that i always recorded stereo. Is there a difference in quality if i use mono?
