SET UP INDIVIDUAL TRACK BUS TO COMPRESSOR OR GROUP ALL THEN SEND?

Hey! im running protools 7.3le and i wanted to know what made more sence during my mixing process. should i A) set up individual buss send fader on tracks i want to send to a buss compresser or B) just group tracks and send out to the buss compressor which is on an Aux track. Most of my tracks were tracked in from electronic gear so i think i wouldnt be compressing things THAT much. just where needed.

I usually buss everything together instead of sending auxs to a buss. Just set all your outputs to a buss and roll from there.

I usually run everything through analog channel on my bussmix before hitting other compressors too.

Don't use all capitals in the subject line, my dear rallycapmusic. It is poor Internetiquette, and makes your post look like SPAM (the meat, not the internet thing).

Beautiful women & talented engineers prefer to read properly formatted English.

IMHO, FWIW, YMMV.

Well i was doing all my mixing in ProTools and using plug-in compressors(no outboard mixer). I found that as i played with it more today that i like using a buss fader on the tracks i want bust to the Aux compressor plug-in instead of bussing ALL the drums. it seems that not ALL my drums need compression, just certain things. Maybe a kick is sorta week and i want it to come out and thump a little more or a snare,etc...

Use sends, then you can mix the compressed tone back in underneath the pure tone and bam, you've got parallel compression goin' on. Experiment with really pumping that comp and listen to how it slams underneath the transients in the pure tone, baby, yeah!
