Thread Starter | When promoting Dance music, which media to send : MP3, cd or vinyl?
is it still worth spending money on vinyl nowadays : is sending vinyls to "real" record labels and DJ's a good thing? Same question with CD's : What's the best : mp3's in record labels' mailboxes with nice presentation attached or send CD's directly to them? Thanks Charly WARGNIER |

If you're talking about submitting music to a label then you should check with the label. Some labels wont accept anything unsolicited. Plus many labels have their own specifics.... so do your research and find out what they like in their own words. That being said... there's no reason to press up vinyl unless you're gonna sell it yourself or send to dj's, even then many dj's jock cd's or some other digital format, there's still a bunch of die hards (bless them) that carry crates around but digital is so much lighter. I think if you're gonna submit music to a label so they'll sign you... don't send an mp3 send as best quality you can. |
