| From what I understand, BAE is built on creating reproductions of vintage modules where-as Aurora Audio, as headed by Geoff Tanner (who actually was part of designing the neve originals and posts on this site from time to time) is advancing that original curcuit design topology, considering the advances in IC and component technology that is availible today that wasn't when the original Neves were created. Aurora doesnt just 'make neve clones' tho they are neve-ish in sound. Im pretty sure Tony Belmont has a more in depth take on the subject.

I like your new avatar thingy! In a literal sense, I do have products that use IC's but not for audio (with the single exception of the 20 watt per channel headphone amps on the GTM). There are four IC sections in the compressor that look after the side chain dc shaping and voltages but the audio paths are all discrete, class A. Similarly, in the GTM, the channel VU meters and Bus VU and phase meters are driven by IC's but, other than the headphone amp already mentioned, all audio paths are discrete transistor, Class A circuitry. ![]()
