common BPM in hip-hop This question might seem stupid, but what would you say are some common place bmp in hip-hop songs......I'm all over the place when I do my own stuff, i was just wondering if there is a particular tempo that is used constantly without me having to sit down and figure it out lol

i know 97 USED to be club tempo, like Jayz "give it to me"---but then things kinda got really fast and really slow... there were some hits at 104, thats like "slave 4u" tempo... i never really got into the "snap" thing so i dont know off hand what that is ... but i know a lot of this new timbaland stuff is WAY faster

From doing thousands of remixes, here's what I noticed: most "street" based snap records are 80-85, (Joc - "It's goin Down" etc) Most club based snap records are slower; 70-80 (D4L Laffy Taffy DFB Lean Wit It Rock Wit Itetc) Crunk "Gangsta" Tracks...any where from 70-85....people like Three 6 and Lil Jon do it on the lower end of the spectrum, while peeps like Mannie fresh do it faster. "Screwed" (Houston) Music....usually 65-75 (Mike Jones Still Tippin etc) Hyphy records are usually 100-110 (E-40 Tell Me When To Go etc) RNB ballads usually 55-70....There are a few songs as slow as 45, usually the "retro" joints like Alicia Keys If I Aint Got you Pop style Rnb joints are usually 95-105...(Usher - Yeah, Timberlake -Sexy Back Diddy -Come To Me) R & B dance records are usually 115-130 (Ciara One Two Step etc) Well that's about all I can think of.
