Phono Preamp

I need a new phono preamp. Right now I'm using a BBE phono pre, but it doesn't have gain which is a bitch. I use my table strictly for sampling, so there's no reason for a mixer...I just need a preamp.

So what do you guys recommend for a quality phono preamp, with gain capabilities, preferably rack mountable.

The Manley Steelhead is rack mounted, but VERY expensive. For lower
cost phono preamps, try the NAD PP-1 (?), or the Creek, both are under
$200 but also don't have any gain control. You might want to find an
old Marantz, etc. hi-fi receiver and use the preamp in that as well.
Dynaco PAS 2 or 3 tube preamps can be had for under $100 and have
good phono sections.

This may be of no use to you if you are not a pro tools user, but the Mbox 2 Pro has a phono preamp built into it. Seems like a cool concept with some potential.

No gain control but the radial J33 is deffinitly a step up from the bbe (i hate that thing) it also has a thud rumble high pass filter, which is pretty dope.

Here's a rackmount mixer:

http://www.rane.com/mp2.html

Two phono/line inputs...

It also has a mic input...I wonder how good that is considering I don't have a mic pre yet.

What do you guys think? Any users of the Rane MP2 or MP4 out there?
