| Gear Head | D'Angelo's Vocal Stacking Am I the only one who draws a strong connection between how D'Angelo stacked vocals in VooDoo and how the Clark Sisters stack vocals? The general tone seems to be that D was revolutionary in how he created vocal harmonies. I think his harmonies are wonderful, don't get me wrong. But when I first heard them, I immediately thought of the Clark Sisters phrasing and stacking. Thoughts? |

| Well, I'd personally suggest Prince and Sly, who both borrowed from Gospel harmony inversions...
