VOCAL BOOTH QUESTIONS

I have a small vocal booth that was built a few years ago its
4 1/4-4 1/4 -7ft,and is line with auralex 2in foam.IM taking it out!
I know the cube shape is terrible and auralex only really cuts out the highs so I just a bunch of oc 703.I know there no good room sound coming out of a room that small so dead is better

My questions are
Cause the room is going to be so dead would it make a noticable difference to make it say 5-6-7ft or does the 703 get rid of most the standing waves.
My second question is I have an angled plexy glass window
should I cover some of it,all of it,or leave it the way it is.
Last question -should I line the whole booth with the 703 or use both the auralex and 703, if its better to use both how should I put it in there.
Ive read the 703 should be place in the corners but I dont have much space.

thanks in advance for any suggestions

It will be a dead box no matter what kind of foam or insulation you use.
I doubt anyone is going to feel comfortable in there.
Can I ask why you need it?
It may be fine for scratch vocals while tracking, but can you record the keeper vocals seperatley in a larger room?

I got limited amount of space and no access of bigger space to record.
My setup is in my brothers attic and he only lets me use half of it.
ITs got slanted ceilings also.
The space I got is all together before the ceiling slants is 18-15-7ft
I could make the booth bigger in length and width, but not any taller.
I need it for hip hop and rnb vocals.

thanks

I have a similar size vox booth. Lined w/ Auralex from about waist high to the ceiling all around. Been thinking about taking out the foam and using maybe cloth or something on the wall instead. Hoping to add just a hair of ambience. If it sounds like crap, I guess I'll just keep the foam up to deaden it completey.

Probabaly not much help there, just dealing w/ a similar issue. Thought I'd chime in.

Instead of starting all over again, put in 4 bass traps and straddle the upper corner where the wall and ceiling meet around the room. That would get you pretty far and may just do the trick for evening out the absorption. I would also put in a couple panels on the ceiling.

Thanks for the thoughts,
But guess what?
With a little persistance and a very optamistic attitude I got my brother to let move all of his stuff to the other side of the attic ."which I already did"this is giving me alot more space or at least more than IM ust to.
But that's not all, while Im trying to convince him one of his friends who was a carpenter and now does asphalt and is out of work for the next month due to the season said he would BUILD ME A STUDIO."FREE OF CHARGE".as long as I buy the material of coarse.

This is crazy,I can't believe it, there's people that nice.
The next day we worked 14hr straight though, this guy moves fast I can't believe how much we got accomplished.Basicly turning a unfinished attic into a nice size room.I due have question though before we go any further.Ceilings angled from top to bottom good or bad and if bad what can I do to help. Were already building 4ft by 4ft bass traps with 6inches of oc f03 to place in the corners and 6inches from ceiling.Im also putting alot of auralex 2inch on the walls.I dont see any parallel walls.

thanks for the suggestions in advance OH and the rooms size is 30ft wide at the bottom and 7ft wide at the top.The lenght of the room is 25ft.
