I think if you have the SPACE for the Realtraps PVB, then you get that, if not, the SE is just fine. Although I have questions about the PVB's mounting system. The SERF on a cymbal stand is AOK.

I also might suggest that what's going on is people are liking the sound of room reverb, and "nasal harshness" is actually the dry sound of the voice through the mic. This is common with a lot of things...reverb makes things sound fuller and richer.

But an even dumber possibility is simply that the vocalist has changed their position or angle of their head as the microphone is moved into the SE filter...it has a bar sticking out of it that would push a vocalist to hunch a bit the further the mic was placed inside, and that alone would provide a more nasal tone.

And that shows that the RF is doing its job.

Yeah, it definitely sounds better out a little. 7-8" is working well.

Whats the price difference between the two?

Is the version from real traps easily portable even though its bigger?

Sounds like something I'd like to have on me for when I got to work with other studios that do not have a seperate vocal booth.

Its also been a while since I first heard about the SE filter, has anything more interesting besides those two items come up?
