Thread Starter | Suggestions/Tips for MIDI Interface and setup - to track mpc2kxl to DP5
Hey, I'm just wondering if anyone has suggestions for a fairly basic midi interface to go with my current setup. I just copped the metric halo mobile i/o 2882, to track from my mpc 2kxl and yamaha s90 to the computer, and it doesn't have 1X1 midi (like alot of firewire interfaces do), so I'm looking for a midi interface. Right now I use one of those little m-audo/midiman uno 1X1 USB interfaces to connect MPC to comp., but I have a feeling this thing isn't that good and introduces a fair bit of latency... Here's my midi set-up right now MPC 2KXL Out A -> Yamaha S90 Out B -> Macbook Pro (w/ DP5) Yamaha S90 Out 1 -> MPC 2kxl In A Thru -> Yamaha DX7 in Macbook Pro Out 1 -> MPC 2kxl In B Right now I use the MPC as the master MTC clock with Reason and DP5 (via out B). Is there a better way I could configure this if I had a MIDI interface with more I/O connected to my comp? Any reccomendations for a solid interface with low-latency or should I keep on using the 1X1 M-audio UNO? Thanks for the help.. |
