Teddy Riley Sound Library to be released!

Awesome news, as i admire this guy soo much!

Hi Everyone,

In case we didn't see you at NAMM, we just wanted you to know that Fixed Noise will be releasing Teddy Riley's sound library this year... Teddy Riley is Michael Jackson's producer, Blackstreet, Guy, Jay-Z, worked with the Neptunes and many more.

Like OTTO, our first idm, industrial and electronica release, it will use the Kontakt Player 2 from Native Instruments.

Also- we are now the US distributors of Fabfilter. Fabfilter is an effect and synth plugin company. Their products have really intuitive drag and drop modulation... a must have for sound designers.

Please check out www.FixedNoise.com for more info.

I love the sound and feel he created on Party Ain`t A Party
for Queen Pen.

He is truly the king of that shuffle feel. I hope he has acoustic drums like
on this track, the toms, snare and hi hat sound unbelievable.

Sweet. Teddy riley has some cool old school sounds. Well, they're old school now. I really like the rhodes patches he used to get from his 2080s. His drum sounds were cool also.

Agreed.

Blackstreet's album is still one of the best mixed period.

Dre's drums didn't sound as good until after he worked with Teddy.

I still say If you need a fix is a great song.

They might be dated if you think the 808 was invented a couple of years ago , which most people are using

Seriously though , something sounding current is more about how we use a sound rather than if a sound is dated , the current crop of sounds Timbo uses could be heard five and even more years ago yet how he uses them still sound fresh , bit of a layer here, bit of hi pitch tunning there and wholla

Everything is about headspace and finding ways of breaking out of ruts we get ourselves into.....

As much as i love Teddy's work , i personally have no desire to own his library , that is Teddy and his musical voice not mine , there are plenty of sounds out there we can manipulate and make our own

Talking

Well, first off. I just had the biggest smile as I'm a huge fan of Teddy's music.
His music is beyond what anyone has done in R&B to date. Just listen to that first Blackstreet album, The third Guy album, not so much the lyric and melody but the sounds and how there mixed, and sooooo many remixes and singles. He created the remix way before anyone knew who Puffy was. He's the first to do Hip Hop/R&B and help make it what it is today. He paved the way for people like Timbo, Neptunes, Rodney Jerkins, Puffy, Jermaine Dupre & so so so many more. He doesn't get the credit he deserves but, hell, who does now anyway. I respect his music and the way he puts it together....Incredible. Plus, his old sounds are way better than the new stuff now anyway. Listen to any Teddy Riley single to remix to album joint. It will make you go, "Where did he get that Kick and Snr from". He's been imitated by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, Babyface, Rodney Jerkins, Jermaine Dupre, Neptunes, Dallas Austin and many more.
Yeah, he hasn't had a major hit since "No Diggity" back in the 90's but, he's still makin jams.
I'll be the first in line to grab this up.

Thanx for the info...

Sorry in advance for any misspelled words, phrases or not using the right meaning/s at the right times. So get over it and back to the post at hand!!! Thanx....

How long does it take to do a mix. - UNTIL IT'S DONE!!!
One thing I'd like you to understand. It's much easier to be done than to be satisfied!!

No Diggety drums were (and still are) some of the best drum sounds to be had.

Long live the King of New Jack

Teddy Riley, and more recently Rodney Jerkins are the reason why I do what I do, true inspirations.

no.

he hasnt.

In fact, he's in africa right now doing his "philantropist"(sp) thing... lol.

I was just at lunch today with his business partner 4orty.

I'm not sure on the details of this release however, because Teddy is involved in alot of things.
I can assure you this isnt some "I'm doing this cuz I'm broke and hangin out with bobby brown" thing.

It's just something.
Teddy is still Teddy... he's always had great sounds, I'm sure they're not going to release material that is dated sounding and expect to make a profit.

and in all honesty... im weary of those types of kits anyway...

I'll ask 4orty about this on monday though.

Teddy Riley is a studio genius! His sounds & mixes are always ridiculous. I've always wondered where in the hell he went. I don't like to see him on the "oldies R&B " tours with Guy & Blackstreet, because I feel that he could easily be making records today!

He changed R&B with New Jack Swing & then reinvented his production style when he introduced Blackstreet. No small feat! The vocals sounds on the second Blackstreet LP are amazing! Let's not talk about his remix work! Whether it's his or someone's songs, he always gave 200%! His production was so crazy, that on a lot of the remixes that he did, there would be multiple versions of the song.

I personally wouldn't buy his sample CD, because some people's sounds are so distinctive, that if you were to try & use them, you would sound like an idiot! I think the Neptunes (who came up under TR, btw!) would fit this category also.

I don't care if TR hasn't had a hit in 30 years! He will always go down as one of the greats in studio & production work!

The Black Rock lp was disappointing, but he is still the king of swing. Oh yeah and I think Dre 'adopted' Teddy's Drums post No Diggity.

And don't forget about the talk box! He is second only to Roger Troutman himself. TR & DJ Quik were pretty much the only ones keeping the talk box alive.

Those are some of the dummest comments i've seen. KNOW YOUR MUSIC HISTORY !!!

1: Todays sound wouldnt exists without Teddy.

2: Dated can be good. Dated can be very good.....Thats the heart of HIP HOP

You think Timbaland and Pharrell got their sound out of the blue air ????
