Yeah, I would say that this isn't funny at all. It's a tragedy.

FWIW - Whitney looks really good after rehab. Who knows...maybe she'll get her voice back and fullfill her destiny as America's greatest diva. I, for one, will be rooting for her.

This was gear from a tour 7 years ago that hasn't been touched since... They are also selling her wardrobe from the tour.

I guess she never paid the storage bills, and they are auctioning everything to pay them off. How someone amasses over $100,000 in these kind of bills I will never know...

It's funny how society sees these things as the artist going absolutely BROKE.

But when things are purchased in excess and that excess is trimmed due to necessity is that really a terrible thing?

HONESTLY, I always wonder why folks don't just sell the shit off themselves. Is it a pride thing?

I know plenty of guys in hip hop that will one month be borrowing money to pay a $2500 house note, and then in a few months be saying to (ME the same person they tried to hit up for cash before)

"I'm thinking of buying another house."

Is it impossible to be an artist and look at the bottom line in business decisions.

It's not how much you make, it's how much you KEEP.

Man do cats even know what a budget is? I've never had THAT much money, so I'm speaking from inexperience, but Damn do you absolutely HAVE to buy stuff simply because you can?

Hell if you own 18 cars and you don't have some land of YOUR OWN to park them on, then you'll have an extra parking expense that will never go away as long as you have the cars.

I come from a business background, and I understand the importance of budget/plans. I can't understand how people who are themselves "businesses" are never concerned with this.

But then maybe I'd be blinded and forget everything if I see that much dough

I doubt it.

I don't know how many people assume that they are going "completely broke", but it does not seem unreasonable to note that they have some sort of issue; perhaps lack of money, or perhaps they simply got so far behind on the warehouse bill that they reasoned it was more trouble than it was worth and the court awarded the contents of their space to the owner of the building.

From the site:

Auction Notes:
Court Ordered Auction/Sale
Re: Speed of Sound vs Nippy, Inc. & Carole Brown

Pursuant to a N.J. Superior Court Order (Warehouseman's Lien)

As others have mentioned; what a waste. Here is wishing them the best for whatever trouble they do (or don't) have.

Man I don't know anyone with quite THAT much to lose and not miss it, but I have seen cats take a loss of $50-60G's for absolutely NO reason in totally avoidable situations.

Hell if you guys saw the list to the Studio Master P was building in Baton Rouge (complete with In house McDonalds LOL) only to stop mid way and place the gear in a warehouse for years before liquidating, you'd think it was every piece of gear EVER needed.

Some folks don't value this stuff like we do.
