Active DI Box Recommendations

I realize you probably have more DI boxes than blades of grass in your yard but I would still like to know what you would use as a versatile all around DI. I basically want something that doesn't color the sound much (if at all), just levels the sginal. I recently ordered some very nice (For me anyway) Presonus pres and want to be able to run my guitar and bass directly into them and keep the sound pristine. I have some Amp modelers in Protools that will give the guitar and bass the realizm so I think all I really need is something where all frequencies come through without any coloration.

Anyway, sorry to ask such a newbie question to a master but this is one of those things where the responses can be all over the place and overwhelming.

BTW, "Frank's Wild Years" is a masterpiece.

I'm the wrong guy to ask about 'pristine'. For the most part, if it doesn't color the sound, I don't want it.
What I use most?... an Aguilar DB 900 tube DI and a Distressor DI (don't tell Dave D. about this as he loaned it to me years ago and I never gave it back.)

I've gotten rid of things like the RNC because it was so transparent. I want all my outboard to impart a flavor of some sort. This way I can have a palette to work with
and then mix [pun subconsciously intended ] and match. More tube stuff more discrete transistor stuff...less chips.. A lot of plug ins seem bland to me..they do the work [like compression] but don't have the same coloration of a real DBX 160vu or a real 1176..hopefully this will change in the next few years as technology advances.
...... thanks again Tchad
