Latin P's - Lagoon

Man I love this track. In fact I love the whole album. I had it on loop when I was in the Hay book festival last year driving through the Brecon Beacons.

Anyway. I've always been intrigued by the vocal delays on this track. I can never tell where the delay is going to be on the vox, sometimes the delayed vocal comes in before the dry and then it flips back to regular delay. I've been trying to figure this out for ages. I was thinking maybe you flipped the taape over or something OR maybe you used the SK1 to sample Louie's vox and triggered the phrases back in.

Anyway Tchad on a wider note, it is kind of humbling when I read the tapeop interview and you say that you sometimes wonnder why you do what you do, and that at times you really don't want to be in the studio but you have an almost chemical reaction to being there. Because this is how I feel on a daily basis and I wonder what people see in the work I do that I don't...What I am rambling on about is, if this happens to you and other top dudes then it makes things a little better!

BTW...don't feel you have to respond to the last paragraph, you did not after all agree to a gearslutz therapy guest mod!

THX again

It's actually a combination of two separate vocals sung out of time, with some analog delay if memory serves.
I like my work, I generally like how I do it but I put myself through a lot to get there.
And for me, it's not only about people hearing something that I don't, which is a learning experience for me, it's also about finding people that hear what I hear, and hope that it all works together to make something better.
