Hi Tchad,

I'm thrilled my favorite engineer is here in the magic box answering so many questions so a big thanks upfront.

The 'Fundamental' record has all the finest qualities of your sound for me...it's very hi-fi and wicked lo-fi sounds contrasting each other...what a mystery!

There are some really wild cymbal sounds on 'Spit of Love' and 'Meet me Halfway'...seems like you might have dubbed them with the effect while tracking, or were you able to isolate them while mixing and process them at that stage?

Do you plan these things out while arranging with Mr. Froom or...?

Finally...the record has so much warm sweetness and soft/aggressive tonality I find you can just crank it in the car and it just sounds so beautiful and easy on the ears...that is so rare these days and makes for one fat ass sound. What am I hearing?

George

Glad you like it. I don't remember any cymbal effect so I'll have to have a listen.
The soft, aggressive sweetness is, I think, crunchie distortion without a lot of top end.
