I enjoy many of the records you have worked on, but I particularly love your work with Simple Minds. I don't have the records handy (am at work) to remind myself of any specific production questions, but I was wondering: 1) Do you think the CD remasters of Reel to Real Cacophony and Empires and Dance sound any good compared to what you remember (I know it was a while ago!) from the sessions? 2) Do you have any interesting stories or techniques from those sessions you want to relate? Thanks! |

Remasters are a little bright and thin. Sounds like he never got original tapes...they do sound a bit crunchy but I'd have to go back and check/compare. Check other Minds thread for more info... Cheers JL |
