hello John, A Storm In Heaven is one of my all time favourite albums. From what I have read, the band would jam for hours and then construct the songs from these jam sessions, (which must sound awsome in their own right?) I would love to hear more about the making of this record. thanks steve |

Hi Polf Yes. Just answered question on Verve so check out other post. Record was made at Sawmills studio in Cornwall which you can only get to by boat. We rehearsed in Wigan for a week to arrange and shorten some of the songs as most were 10-20 mins long, We spent 5 weeks recording and went back for 2 weeks mixing so whole record done there. Check out other post for more info. Cheers JL |

thanks for the reply John! do the recordings of the album sessions still survive? if so could they ever see the light of day?! I love the bands early work and I can imagine that these "jam" sessions would be mind blowingly good ![]() I would be interested to know about the gear used such as vocal mic, desk, comps, reverb... blah blah.. ..also I would like to hear about the mixing of it, the album sounds really , really great - well done! steve |
