hey john, firstly welcome and thanks a million for this Q&A. My question is about the roses. before the release of the first album they had more of a rock sound going on. As producer, how much did you influence them to create that loose indie/dance sound? also, were you aware at the time that you were involved in something so special? |

I don't think I influenced them to make that 'loose indie/dance sound'. Thats what they had when I first saw them and I just brought that out in them and allowed them to be and get the best recording of it all. It was pretty special at the gigs and when it took off just as we were doing Fools Gold. We all had great time making the records and it shows a bit in the music and mix. Cheers JL |

The Stone Roses“ first album is such a great collection of songs with great production. In my top 5 all time favourites. Perhaps a silly question: Did you at any particular occasion during the production feel "this is it, this is gonna be great!"? /Jonas
