| FX use in Modern Rock records. Hey Michael... I've just started mixing/producing rock/pop records having had a good run in dance/electronic music but felt I needed to do something else... My head was very much into tons of FX specially on vocals, but mixing for pop and rock I find getting FX to sound "right" and not too "trippy" a bit of a learning curve... do you find yourself going to certain verbs/delays on vocals?.....what about guitars? take coldplay's yellow for example... the vocals sound affected, but yet still dry... any advice on getting good fx on pop/rock records? thanks again for taking the time to entertain our questions... rush. |

| i use a simple delayed plate type reverb and an analog delay set to 1/8 or 1/4 note. I keep it simple. |
