When mixing Pro Tools files, do you "mouse around" in the software much?

If so - what do you find yourself doing?

Or do your assitants / engineers do all the "PT stuff"?

Thanks,

I’ve been forcing myself to get familiar with software. I mean"forcing" in a positive way and in no way implying that hardware is better than software. I didn’t grow up with software as my first toy so it’s I’m curious about what there is that could help me get an idea out. I’m not really interested in the compressor or EQ copies of the classics since I own the originals…too many for that matter. What interests me are the tape simulators like the Phoenix which I use almost as a default across all the tracks, or the different pitch softwares like Melodyne,Pitch'n'time and AutoTune which Keith Gary, my assistant, uses on a regular basis.

I love the Amp farm plugins, sansamp, sometimes echo farm,( I have an extensive collection of single head and multi head tape echos and wire based echos like the Binson that I prefer over plugins)

Keith does all the editing, pitching and bussing out of Protools files. Anything to do with PT, he does. That’s why his credit reads “Mix assistant and Protools engineer”.
