The Yamaha CP-70 or was it an 80? (as used on So) How did you approach recording the CP-70? Since it was such a big part of So, was there any special attention paid in tracking and mixing this fine instrument? Thanks,

Philosi, It was a CP70 and we recorded it thru this gray Boss Chorus foot pedal. Used the console (SSL E Seies) mic pre's with a tad of equalisation to tape. I have mentioned in other threads that the CP70 was combined with guitars and other keys fairly often to make up a composite sound. In the mix, it was mostly light sculpting of the eq and placement to achieve the desired affect. kevin

philosi, Yes I hate to burst that bubble but its true. But you can take comfort in the knowledge that the Dimension D made a significant impact in the making of this record ,including the piano. And PG still has it at Real World, now that is devotion. Kevin

Thanks Kevin, With that said, the Dimension D and the backup Dimension D in the storage closet are safe from the Ebay chopping block. But as we all experience in this business, the "new kid on the block" (in this case a grey Boss chorus foot pedal) is going to come along and charm everyone for a while. All the best.
