Recording Aja....

Al,
Thank you for taking time to do this. I would be very interested in hearing some of your recollections of recording Aja. There are so many amazing moments on that record i.e. Wayne Shorter's Sax Solo on Aja, Jay Graydon's guitar solo on Peg, Micheal McDonald's background vocals on Peg. Do you recall your signal chain for any of these artists/tracks ?

Thanks in advance,

Tim Cochran

Hi Tim, I didnt record any of AJA, I just mixed Peg and Deacon Blues. The person to ask would be Els Scheiner he did most of the recording. I had a ball mixing with them, it tool 12 hours to mix each song, this was before automation and each mix was a performance. But I have fond memories of the time spent with them. Al
