Arrow Mini Mastering!

I have PT 002. I would like some advice on how to do some mastering of my own. I don't have a lot of plugins. I would especially like to know about techniques of limiting. I guess I dont fully understand how I should us a Limiter on the Master Fader to increase the over all output. Any other advice about plugins I should use (i.e. comp,eq, ect.) on the master fader would be great. In not so much looking for brands but more for types of inserts and how I should use them. Thanks everyone!

1. Go to www.digido.com
2. Order Bob Katz's book immediately
3. Read it cover to cover
4. Decide if you really think there's a such thing as "mini" mastering
5. If yes, proceed with new found knowledge
6. If no, ask again for the names of some top ME's who will do you right at a good price.

Seriously - if you want to mess around with your tracks, I'd be the last person to tell you not to. Just use your ears and mess with stuff. DAWs have an undo. Just keep a copy of the original mix so that you can send it out to someone if you change your mind. For the cost of a minimally acceptable set of mastering plugs you could have an album mastered by some of the best ears and gear in the country. Only you can decide how much your project is worth.

Bob's book is the shortest, "how do I master something" course I can think of. It is outstanding.

Good luck.
