Unhappy "Pops" at the end of my tracks!

I recently mixed some songs for my friend. When playing them on a CD I realized that there where pops at the end of my tracks. I cut my tracks at "zero" and used fade outs. I cant seem to get the pops to go away. I have PT LE. I use Roxio to burn. Can anyone help?

Oddly, I never have pops at the end of my tracks, but when I burn my songs on a CD in iTunes, at the end of the last song on a compilation, there will be a pop at the end.

I started getting pop at points on my tracks where I stop the recording. They are at the end of the recording and or when I punch out. Wish I could tell you had to stop it from happening. I have been going in and cleaning up the pops. Let me know if you get a solution,

Regards,
Brian

Are you bouncing to Disk with Plug-ins running?
This could be the problem - some plugins screw this up. Bus the master to another channel and just record it inside ProTools - Trim that file if needed (and check the end fade) then duplicate that to include the fades. Then export that out of the regions list to whatever format you want. I find this to be far more foolproof than bouncing. Particularly because you can visually check the beginning and end for zero crossing/zero amplitude.

great tip! i used to have issues (not often, and random as far as i could tell) of very shor bursts of pink noise finding its way onto the end of the occasional bounce. all the research i did also pointed to the plugins. i think it was a waves plug, but i never did pin it down. when i got the new version of the plugs, everything was cool.

one thing i did find the helped was, when the noise would show up, i could go back to the session file and move the end of the selection point (as in selecting the audio to bounce) by the smallest amount in either direction. that would fix it every time. this may be an alternitive to you if you maxed out your track count and thus, can't record the audio (of the 2mix) to an additional track. but if you have the tracks available, i'd opt for paul's method.

If you do bounce to disk, bounce a selection not the whole file. I usually treat my mixes like a master, I select the top of the tune exactly the way I want it to start, there may even be a small fade, I fade out the reverb and other tracks then I fade out the master on dead stop songs and I always make my selection a few hundred milliseconds longer than the end of the fade. I name my selection MIX in the locater window. I've had a problem when using masterlist cd with a clunk at the very end and noone has been brave enough to answer the questions yet
