| Secrets of Serban Ghenea IMO, Serban Ghenea, mix engineer for The Neptunes and Kenna among others, is the best "in the box" mixer out there. What are his secrets? Anyone know? |

He was very into sculpting 'sound' as opposed to just doing what we've always done. And about doing what we've always done in the past, I have a term for that: PRESET MIXING (Preset one: SSL/tape. Preset two: Neve/tape, and on and on...) So back to the topic at hand, I think that's what these guys are all about, Dye and Ghenea --- unorthodox mixing methods and not afraid to try things that others look down on (such as PT way back in the day when they said it sux).
