Thread Starter | Ah what the heck, real drums or programmers, what would you do in my shoes? Butch thanks so much for replying to my earlier post! I'm a songwriter who has also worked professionally as an engineer for eight years now, last year this culminated with being an assistant engineer to Shelly Yakus (who used to be an owner at A&M) for a project that lasted for 10 months and was the best experience of my life. I have a new music project where it's really just me this time, called Terrible People. The songwriting is influenced by bands like Smashing Pumpkins, Nada Surf, Sonic Youth, Husker Du and The Pixies. My question is, I don't have a band and I haven't been able to find people who like what I'm doing to jam with, but I play everything but drums for the most part, even clarinet! Everyone I meet is into emo, or folk, or metal, or something else that just isn't a good fit. should I hire a session drummer? Or...would it be easier to work with people who are great with editing newer drum programs, record my songs and work. I've always envisioned a band... Thank you, - Cary.
