Butch Vig songs in Rock Band

Looking through your discography I noticed that a lot of the music you produced ended up in the music videogame Rock Band. Garbage obviously, L7, Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins, most of Nirvana's "Nevermind", soon Green Day, and I'm probably forgetting more. It seems like half the tracks in the game have your fingerprints on them!

Musicians seem to have a love or hate relationship with this game, I was wondering if you'd played it at all, if you'd interacted with Harmonix at all in giving them master tapes, and what you think about its potential to be a new much needed revenue source for the industry.

I know this was sort of a random, tangential question but it really did strike me how much of your music ended up in there! A testament to producing some really great records that kids are still listening to and loving years later.

Thank you for doing this Q&A!

I've never played Rock Band...cuz I'm sure I would suck at it!
I'm not very good at video games either, my nephew Harry smokes me at any attempt I've ever made...

I don't know if my production has that much to do with getting a song into Rock Band, I think it's cuz the band's songs are great, and they have killer guitar riffs!!!
