Gibson Les Paul BFG

Just thought this looked interesting. Kinda fun.

It's a stripped LP Standard, but with a P-90 in the neck position.

Thing doesn't even have a truss rod cover.

http://www.gibson.com/Products/Gibso...%20Paul%20BFG/

It's gonna street for under a grand.

maple top/mahogany back, so it'll have that open sound, kinda like a Jr. or SG.

Thanks for the heads up. I like the look. Unfinished like a trendy nightspot. What about the neysayers who don't like to mix a HB with a P90?

Sure wish they'd offer a fat neck version.

1k is a good price for a new gibson. I kinda like the DIY look. I'm not stoked on the colors, but I may get one to hang on the wall.

Yeah, I think the price is good.

I'd actually be more stoked if it came stock with p-90's in both positions.

500 bux for the axe
500 bux for the word "Gibson" on the headstock.

Kinda sad, but I almost feel like a $1000 Epiphone would be of higher quality than a $1000 Gibson.

A little off topic, buy have you guys even checked out Ed Roman guitars in Las Vegas. $1000 bux goes a long ways there.

Yep - one of the ugliest guitars I have ever seen produced by Gibson!

I used an Epiphone LP as a backup for a while, and I tried a lot of 'em to find what I considered a good one. I felt like they didn't feel as solid, maybe something with the neck joint. Not a small difference, and definitely not a case of "badge engineering".

My advice to anyone would be to pay the extra for the Gibson.

The finish on the BFG is kind of a "whatever" to me. I like the configuration, and it's a pretty good deal.

I could give a rat's culo who's endorsing it.

I wouldn't buy a gumball from Ed Roman.

If they had an ebony fretboard with pearl inlays, it'd looks sooo much nicer...
